FNCTN started with a frustration: the shelf was full of over-caffeinated hype and under-dosed sleep gummies. Nothing treated the day as a system. So we built one.
Walk down the functional aisle and you are asked to choose between two bad options. On one side, energy drinks selling 200mg of caffeine and a sugar load nobody asks for, engineered for a spike and quiet about the crash. On the other, sleep products carrying trace amounts of the right compounds at doses too small to do anything, wrapped in soft focus and lavender.
Both are selling a feeling. Neither is selling a formula.
What was missing was the obvious thing: your day has two ends, and they need different chemistry. The morning needs a lift that does not cost you the afternoon. The evening needs help switching off without a hangover. Those are two different problems, so we built two different answers and made them one system.

FNCTN is built and run by Sarthak Gautam. He came to it from Bain & Company, NITI Aayog and the strategy team at noon in the UAE, three places where a recommendation only counted if the evidence behind it held up.
That is the habit this brand inherited. Every formulation question here was worked the same way: find what the published research actually supports, then decide what earns a place in a 5g stick. Nothing is in the formula because it markets well.
We think FNCTN should feel like engineering: precise, honest, and quietly confident. No noise. No filler. Just the compounds that work, at the doses that matter.
We ship two products, not twenty. Every ingredient has to earn its place on the label.
No proprietary blends, no hidden amounts. What is on the pack is what is in the stick.
The body runs on cycles. Our system is designed around the two that matter most.
We start from the amount used in published research and build the stick around it. The formula is not adjusted down to hit a price or up to look impressive on a label.
Every active appears with its exact milligram amount per stick. Where a compound arrives from more than one source, as glycine does in NIGHT, we print the amount we dose and say plainly that the magnesium carries more, rather than quietly rounding the two into one flattering number.
A wide range is easy to launch and hard to defend. We would rather get two formulas right than dilute attention across a catalogue.
The Science page links the actual studies behind each dosed active, including the reviews that call the evidence modest. You should be able to check our reasoning rather than take our word for it.
Zero grams. Sweetness comes from monk fruit alone.
Zero. The stick is the actives and the flavour, nothing else.
A blend is where an underdosed ingredient goes to hide.
No compound listed at an amount too small to do anything.
No line extensions, no seasonal flavours, no twelfth SKU.
FNCTN produces in limited batches rather than holding a warehouse of stock we have to shift. That means the waitlist is real: it is how we size a run, and it is the only way to get the first boxes. The first 500 members keep founder pricing.
